Help for Step 3 - Where did you meet?
This question asks about the social context of your encounters with your contacts.
There are four options to choose from. Put a cross in the box of the situations that best suit where you were when you met each of your contacts and groups. You can cross more than one box for individuals or groups if you met them in more than one situation.

Why do we ask about where you meet people?
By finding out in which situations people meet each other and how many different people they might meet there, we can get a better idea of which types of social situations we could advise people to avoid to try and stop very transmissible diseases spreading. Also, it is thought that the people you meet at home and at your work or school are likely to be the same people you meet there every day; this may not be the case for places like supermarkets or while commuting. Contact tracing is a healthcare strategy which aims to track down and treat people whom someone that is infectious may have met. Knowing in advance how many people this is likely to involve and in which situations will give healthcare workers a better idea of what to expect.
