Help for Step 6 - How often?
In this section we would like to know on how many days in a typical week you meet each contact. Please cross only one box, that best describes on how many days you usually meet this contact. For groups of people please cross the one box that applies best to an average member of the group. The options are:
4 or more days a week: This will usually apply to people you live with and people you meet most days at work/school or socialising.
2 or 3 days a week: This will usually be people that you meet regularly (2 or 3 times a week) but do not meet every day.
Once a week: Generally this will apply to contacts you meet at a regular weekly event.
Less often than once a week: Please use this box if you have definitely met the contact previously, but this is less often than once a week.
Met for first time this day: This will be for people you believe you have never met before. You clearly cannot be sure that you have never met this contact previously, but please cross this box if you cannot remember meeting this person before.
The reason we are asking this question is that we want to understand about the frequency of contacts. In terms of spreading a disease, there are important differences between seeing 10 new people in a day, or seeing the same 10 people every day. This question highlights these differences.
Example
Colleagues Joe and Ann at work, who you have seen every weekday but not at
weekends: cross '4 or more days a week'.
You see Aunty Pam every other week: cross 'Less often than once a week'.
